Long Run: Nockstein & Gaisberg

In December we challenge the cold! For our December long run we will challenge the cold and run to two peaks close to Salzburg City.

Starting at the Zentrum im Berg, we run along the Alter Bach for a few kilometers until we get to the village of Heuberg where we then take on a steep hill and climb to the top of the Nockstein from the north side. We then cross over to the Gaisbergrunde followed by summiting the Gaisberg. Finally, we go back down to ZiB via the famous Gaisberg switchbacks, Gersbergalm and the Kuhberg.

The total course will be just under 17km and have around 1000m of vertical gain. We start at 9:30 from Zentrum im Berg (near Akropolis restaurant) and the run should take around 2 hr 30 minutes so please bring enough water and food with you for this duration. Make sure you…
