About the event
Our August run takes us along the 11th stage of the iconic SalzAlpenSteig long-distance hiking trail!
Starting from Golling train station, we'll run about 3 km along the Salzach to the Kuchler Badesee. We then start a 700m ascent crossing the Schleierfall and ending at the Truckentannalm. From there we start descending slowly while passing by the Zinken lift and the Keltenblitz summer toboggan. We then continue to Bad Dürrnberg before running down alongside the Hallein salt mine to the train station which is where our run ends. The total distance is of around 17km with around 750m of vertical gain. You can see the full route here.
We expect the run to take around 3 hours, so please bring enough water and food for this distance. Runners should bring clothing appropriate for the weather and wear trail running shoes with a tread designed for off-road conditions. You should also bring money and a mask for the train ride back from Hallein.
This run is open to members of the Trail Community Salzburg. Non-members are also cordially invited to either register as a member or to make a donation of 5 euros.
